Muizenberg and the dogs of the sea

Our last day in the Mother City seemed very beach orientated. We took the train to Muizenberg where we saw the famous colorful change facilities associated with the Capetown beach lifestyle. I had an absolute blast running around and posing in front of these little structures. The most amazing experience of this journey happen in Hout Bay. Where we all fortunate enough to snorkel with seals just off a small Island called Seal Island. I was a little afraid to get involved because of how cold the water was but more because of how intimidating the sheer amount of wildlife was. This experience was life changing, the seals would come up right to you just to inspect what strange creature was visiting them. I would recommend this to anyone and hope many people will consider this when they experience Cape Town for the first time.  For more information please follow the link: http://sealsnorkeling.com/.

Wine tasting in Stellenbosh

The next morning we took a train into Stellenbosh. Now i would recommend that if you are doing this always be conscious of your surroundings as it can be a bit dangerous. We booked in at an absolute heaven of a place called Bonne Esperance. This is guest house in Stellenbosh that completely defied expectation, please do check them out at: http://www.bonneesperance.com/ . We spent our day in Stellenbosh doing the one thing that is expecting which is wine tasting. We went to blaauwklippen wine estate and had our first wine tasting, The  experience was a complete eye opener, specially to a student who is used to wine being served in a box. My dad was so ecstatic that he bought a 1978 bottle of wine that he declares wont be consumed. I cannot wait to drink that wine haha,

The Aquarium and Shimmy Beach

Woke up to a beautiful morning in Cape Town and we all decided that we where going to go to the aquarium. The aquarium was absolutely mind blowing, we saw penguins being fed, a moray eel that was the size of Arnold Schwarzenegger's arm,so many Nemo's that we didn't have to find him again and so much more. The family then decided that we where going to go to Shimmy Beach for a late afternoon lunch/dinner. Now if you have not been to Shimmy Beach before, like I have, let me tell you this place is amazing. I had my very first cigar there, my sister could swim while everyone was having lunch/dinner and it was an absolute blast. The place is a little pricey but if you are interested in seeing what their menu has to offer please follow this link: http://www.shimmybeachclub.com/cuisine.

Shimmy Beach was an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone experiencing Cape town for the first time.

Tattoos and Eastern Food Bazaar

The flight was terrible, my girlfriend had to hold me during lift off and the landing. Yes I am a big baby but it is just unnatural. So we arrive in Capetown and take the MyCiti bus service to long street and I spot a beauty of a VW beatle riding next to us. That was the first sign that the day was going to be good. We are staying at an absolute beauty of a place called The Long Street Boutique Hotel. I do recommend it if you want to be in the center of the city and specially if you are a student here is a link if you need more information - http://www.tripadvisor.co.za/Hotel_Review-g312659-d621474-Reviews-Long_Street_Boutique_Hotel-Cape_Town_Central_Western_Cape.html. Our first mission was to find a good friend of ours James. James had decided the day before that he was getting a tattoo for his parents 25th anniversary. We met James and saw the newly patched ink as it happened. We then mission to Eastern Food Bazaar for some lunch. Eastern Food Bazaar is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Cape town and I recommend it to anyone who loves any Asian inspired cuisine. We then headed back to the hotel for a chilled evening.

Mr. Cheese Curls

Well hallo there. My name is Quinton and I am writing this blog about a recent trip into  Cape Town. I am a student studying at Vega currently finishing my degree. As you can see I have a bit of hair situated directly on top of my head hence the nickname Cheese Curls. I live in the beautiful green and humid, Kwazulu Natal. I hate flying, hate it. Sitting in a metal tube full of farts, thousands of kilometers up in the air is not my idea of fun. This is my little adventure in the Mother City.
